Biography
Steve Skarnulis, a co-founder of Cain & Skarnulis PLLC, has litigated, arbitrated and resolved high-stakes matters in many industries, including fiduciaries and trusts, construction, insurance/reinsurance, banking and finance, hospitality, chemical, healthcare, technology, and energy. He has served as counsel for a range of business clients that run the gamut from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. He’s no stranger to the pressures of business, as his first career was owning and managing restaurants in Austin, Dallas, and Atlanta.
After his restaurant ventures, Mr. Skarnulis earned his B.B.A. summa cum laude from St. Edward’s University and graduated from Baylor University School of Law magna cum laude in 2003. While at Baylor Law, he was the recipient of various honors and scholarships, was an articles editor on law review, and competed nationally with Baylor’s mock trial teams. He has been selected to Super Lawyers for several years running and is a life member of the Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation, a distinction awarded to only a third of one percent of the Bar annually.
While his law career was launched at Van Osselaer, Cronin & Buchanan LLP, the defining moment arrived in April 2007 when he joined forces with Charlie Cain to found Cain & Skarnulis. In addition to courts in the state of Texas, Mr. Skarnulis is admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and all federal district courts in Texas and Colorado.
