Stephen R. Leslie is a bankruptcy and litigation attorney with Stichter, Riedel, Blain & Postler PA in Tampa, Florida. His practice focuses on Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law, as well as Litigation – Bankruptcy, with an emphasis on complex Chapter 11 matters and related commercial disputes.
Mr. Leslie has served as lead Chapter 11 or lead workout counsel in matters involving hundreds of millions of dollars in assets across a wide range of industries. These matters have included marinas; condominium and mixed-use developments; hotels; self-storage facilities; general contractors and construction companies; motorcycle and trucking businesses; block, concrete, furniture, window, and construction component manufacturers; agricultural operations, including citrus; real estate developers and apartment complexes; aerospace and defense-related businesses; design firms; medical and dental practices and manufacturing concerns; national carnival operators; diamond, clothing, and home accessory retailers; auto repair and car rental companies; retail strip centers; open-cast mining operations; firearms accessory manufacturers; small private colleges; railroad right-of-way maintenance companies; and regional and national restaurant chains.
In addition to debtor representations, Mr. Leslie has represented lenders, including DIP lenders, asset purchasers, creditors’ committees, and fiduciaries in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases. He has also been retained to provide testimony on bankruptcy-related issues and has handled a wide range of commercial litigation matters arising in the bankruptcy context, including avoidance actions and contested proceedings.
Mr. Leslie’s experience further includes bankruptcy appellate matters and litigation strategy involving insolvency and reorganization issues. He works with businesses, fiduciaries, and stakeholders seeking practical solutions to complex financial and legal challenges under the Bankruptcy Code.
