Stephen Axinn is the senior partner in Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider. He has practiced antitrust law for more than 45 years and has handled many significant litigation matters and has handled many of the nation's largest and most challenging M&A transactions, including representation of the U.S. Department of Justice in its successful challenge of the WorldCom Sprint merger, Sungard Data Services in its successful defense of the DOJ's challenge to its acquisition of Comdisco, Texaco, Takeda Pharmaceutical, Ball Corporation, The Bemis Company, Group Health Insurance, BellSouth, Harcourt Brace Jovanivich and many others. He is a co-author of a standard treatise on the Hart Scott Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.
