Stephen Weed is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania patent attorney with CM Law, LLP who has practiced in the intellectual property field since 1998. He advises major corporations, start-ups, and small and mid-sized companies on a broad range of intellectual property matters. Before entering the intellectual property field, Mr. Weed worked for six years as an analyst with Electronic Data Systems (EDS), supporting a major automotive manufacturer and a major health care provider and working with management at various levels.
Mr. Weed focuses his practice on obtaining, evaluating, and transferring intellectual property rights. He has prepared more than 100 patent applications and has evaluated and transferred rights involving hundreds of patent applications and issued patents. His patent law experience includes electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, business method, and computer-related inventions and developments.
Mr. Weed works to provide responsive service and practical guidance regarding the development, protection, evaluation, and transfer of intellectual property assets. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association (PIPLA), and the Chester County Bar Association. He has also written and spoken on intellectual property trends and legal developments, including “Noninfringement and Invalidity Opinions” (co-author), published in Electronic and Software Patents: Law and Practice, 3rd ed., and “Web Crawlers” (author), published in IP Law in Cyberspace, 3rd ed.
