Stephen F. "Steve" English

Steve English has more than 35 years of jury and non-jury trial experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants. He has successfully tried over 100 cases to verdict. His trial experience includes business disputes, commercial torts, environmental claims, trade secrets, securities, breach of contract, directors' and officers' liability and product liability claims. He has served as national, regional and Oregon counsel for international businesses and manufacturers. He has broad experience in high-stakes cases and in sensitive, high-risk matters both for individuals and for corporate clients, large and small. Steve has also on occasion agreed to be a "mediator of last resort" in particularly difficult and contentious disputes.



Steve has a recognized ability to present complicated factual or technical matters to juries and judges, from technology matters to financial issues from corporate fraud to sports law to environmental problems.



Steve has been recognized by Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business as "a tremendous advocate" among trial lawyers nationwide. He is ranked by Chambers Global in Commercial Litigation and as a "Star Individual" in Oregon for General Commercial Litigation. Steve is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), which comprises the top 1 percent of the trial bar in the United States and Canada and is a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL), an invitation-only organization whose membership is limited to 500 lawyers. He has been consistently ranked in the top 10 lawyers in Oregon by Super Lawyers and is recognized in seven Best Lawyers categories, including Bet-the-Company Litigation.
