Biography
Stephen Babcock is a native of Ruston, Louisiana. He earned a B.S. from Louisiana Tech University and subsequently received a J.D. from the LSU Paul M. Herbert Law Center. Martindale-Hubbell has given Mr. Babcock an AV rating, an indication of his exemplary legal skills, stellar reputation—and highly respected, well-established practice.
Since he founded Babcock Injury Lawyers, Mr. Babcock has prided himself on taking a direct, down-to-earth, insightful—and proactive—approach with all of his clients. Mr. Babcock’s practice is based entirely on litigation of plaintiff commercial business, personal injury matters, and mass tort and class action matters. As a trial lawyer, he has represented clients as lead counsel in state and federal litigation, arbitration, and mediation involving claims of fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, defamation, business torts, products liability, insurance coverage, and professional negligence and serious and catastrophic personal injury cases, and mass torts among others.
While Stephen has never turned away an opportunity to try a case to a jury if the case warrants, Stephen is a strong advocate of alternative dispute resolution and participates in mediation and arbitration as alternatives to trial whenever possible. Speaking of being a seasoned trial attorney, Stephen Babcock is a member of the Multi-million Dollar Advocates Forum which is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won multi-million dollar verdicts. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.
On a More Personal Note Mr. Babcock is an avid outdoorsman and golfer who enjoys all that southern Louisiana has to offer. His favorite activities involve offshore fishing and duck hunting. What’s more, Mr. Babcock’s passion for golf takes him all over the United States.

Born and raised outside of Ruston, La., Stephen attended Louisiana Tech University, where he received a B.S. in marketing in 1997. Already a licensed real estate agent at the time, his intention was to go to law school and become a title attorney. However, not long after he began his studies at Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Babcock changed his mind and realized he wanted to be a trial lawyer instead.
