Biography

Stephen Hester is an award-winning attorney with a focus on civil litigation. He concentrates his practice on Business and Commercial Litigation, Tort Litigation, and Business Transactions.

As a litigator, Stephen has successfully represented individuals and businesses of all types including banks, manufacturers, hospitals, and nursing homes. He has represented architects, engineers, and lawyers in malpractice litigation. He has significant experience with litigated bankruptcy matters, fraudulent transfer litigation, class action litigation, trust, and estate litigation, shareholder derivative lawsuits, dissenters’ rights actions, director and officer liability, and construction litigation.

In his transactional practice, Stephen routinely represents clients in conjunction with business formation, real estate matters, commercial contracts, and confidentiality agreements.

Stephen has served as a Delegate to the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates, the policy-making body for the American Bar Association.

He has achieved an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Graduating cum laude from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, Stephen served as President of the College’s Honor Council, President of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, and President of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honorary Society.

He earned his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law. There, he served on the Moot Court Board and as an officer of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity.
