About Stephanie L. Green

Stephanie Green is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Gavvl Law, where she has spent nearly a decade focused exclusively on Ohio family law. A 2014 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law, Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Cincinnati in 2011 before earning her J.D., and she has been licensed to practice in Ohio since 2015. She helped build Gavvl Law to give Ohio families a more honest, accessible, and modern family law experience — one that pairs serious legal skill with transparent pricing and flexible payment plans.

Stephanie's practice covers the full range of family law matters: divorce and dissolution, child custody and parenting time, child support, spousal support, adoption, and more. She is comfortable guiding clients through both amicable, agreement-based cases and contested litigation, and she helps clients understand which path fits their family and their budget. Whether a case calls for careful negotiation or firm courtroom advocacy, Stephanie builds a strategy around the client's goals rather than a one-size-fits-all template.

As a divorced mother of two, Stephanie brings a personal understanding of the emotional weight her clients carry. She knows that a family law case is rarely just a legal problem — it is a life transition that affects children, finances, and a person's sense of stability. That perspective shapes how she communicates: directly, compassionately, and without the jargon that makes the legal system feel out of reach. Clients leave their conversations with Stephanie understanding their options and the likely consequences of each one.

Stephanie's client approach reflects the values that define Gavvl Law. She believes clients deserve to stay informed and in control of their own cases, supported by clear communication, flat-fee options, and pricing they can actually plan around. She works with clients when and where it is convenient for them, and she is committed to keeping quality representation within reach for Ohio families who might otherwise feel priced out of the help they need.

Licensed in Ohio and a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Association, Stephanie's firm represents clients in domestic relations and juvenile courts across the state, including the major metropolitan courts in Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Dayton. Recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for 2026, she continues to lead Gavvl Law's mission of serving families in all 88 Ohio counties. Q&A

Gavvl Law is a statewide family law and estate planning firm serving all 88 Ohio counties. We built the firm around a simple idea: legal help should fit real life — wherever in Ohio life happens to be. That means flat-fee options, limited-scope services for people who only need help with part of their case, financing plans, and technology we built ourselves so clients always know exactly where their case stands. Family law is hard enough. Hiring a lawyer shouldn't be.

The big three:

  1. "What's the difference between a divorce and a dissolution?" A dissolution means you and your spouse agree on everything and file together — it's faster, less expensive, and far less stressful. A divorce is what you file when you need the court to decide things for you.
  2. "How much is this going to cost?" It depends on the case, but for many matters we offer flat fees, so you know the number before we start — no surprise bills.
  3. "How long will this take?" An agreed dissolution can wrap up in a few months; a contested divorce takes longer. I'd rather tell you that honestly upfront than promise a timeline nobody can keep.

This past year, we helped a mother see her children again after several years apart. The facts of the case were particularly challenging — traumatizing, honestly — but seeing the photos of them reuniting is something I will never forget. The system doesn't always get it right, and part of our job is stepping in when it doesn't.

Two things. First, the emotional weight. By the time someone calls a family law attorney, they're often in the hardest season of their life, and they deserve someone who is both calm and honest with them. Second, Ohio itself: we have 88 counties, and every single one has its own local rules, its own forms, and its own way of doing things. We've made it our job to know all of them. It's a lot of homework — but it's also exactly what it takes to be a truly statewide firm.

I went through it myself — and it's unfortunately a story I hear repeated back all too often. After eight years of marriage, when my boys were 3 and 4, my marriage fell apart unexpectedly, overnight. Even as a divorce attorney, I remember the gut-wrenching hurt, the fear, and the uncertainty hitting all at once. Thankfully, I knew what to do — but that didn't make it any less painful. That experience is what inspired me to form Gavvl Law: a firm built on compassion, honesty, and human-first representation, with affordable options, so no one has to face that moment alone. People deserve a helping hand in life's most difficult chapters. I believe deeply in our mission, and I truly believe we've built something different — and better.

Outside of work, my two boys, 8 and 10, keep me busy (and humble). I'm also a problem-solver at heart — a surprising amount of my "free time" goes into creating legal technology and development, from automating court forms to building client-facing tools, because I honestly find it fun and because it's time the legal field joined the 21st century. I'm also a huge fan of live music and attend as many concerts as I can. I'm a firm believer that sunshine, being outdoors, and a good self-care day can fix most problems - and if it can't - call us

Facing a family law issue can become all-consuming. But that fear and uncertainty won't last forever. There will be better days and brighter tomorrows, and you can — and will — get through what you're facing right now. If you need help, reach out, whether that's to us, another firm, or family and friends.
