Stephan Schmidt

Stephan specializes in advising companies in the areas of Telecommunications- and IT-Law, Software- and Data Protection Law. He drafts, reviews and negotiates license and project agreements, maintenance agreements, distribution agreements and general terms and conditions for national and international clients and is also active in litigation. He benefits from his technical understanding and in-depth knowledge of the industry. Stephan also supports Mergers & Acquisitions and has been involved in several national and cross-border transactions in the IT and telecom sectors.

Stephan has been a specialist lawyer for information technology law since 2008 and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional. He is the author of various legal articles and co-author of various handbooks and commentaries. He is a frequent speaker at congresses and symposia and teaches IT contract law at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. Stephan is a member of the German Society for Law and Informatics (DGRI), the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw) and the Information Technology section of the German Association of Lawyers (DAVIT).

Stephan is fluent and consults in English and German. He is a member of the Bar Association for the district of the Higher Regional Court of Koblenz and admitted to practice throughout Germany.
