Sloan L. Abernathy

Sloan defends insurers, trucking companies and corporate clients, as well as realtors, insurance agents, physicians and other professionals in matters involving trucking & auto negligence, professional negligence, medical malpractice, premises liability, property damage and coverage disputes. He believes consistent communication, along with outcome-driven litigation tactics, are key to developing and executing a defense strategy that is best suited to meet the needs and desired outcome of each client.

In every case, he strives to personalize and tailor the defense strategy to serve the individual needs of his clients and to keep his clients at ease with the confidence they are receiving a top-tier and thorough defense. He takes pride in his ability to present winning legal briefs and welcomes the opportunity to defend his clients in the courtroom when appropriate. He has prevailed in trial and on motions presented in jurisdictions across the state, achieving judgments of outright dismissal as well as non-dispositive rulings advantageous to his client’s position in the litigation. Before entering private practice, Sloan clerked for a federal judge and served several years as a felony prosecutor.

Outside of the legal world, Sloan enjoys reminiscing about his days as a bass player for an 80’s cover band and attempts to help his wife wrangle their three kids.
