Shay L. Garvin is a Corporate Law attorney in Omaha, Nebraska, representing businesses and individuals in a broad range of transactional and regulatory matters. As part of Erickson Sederstrom, Shay advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, business formation, securities offerings, debt and equity financing, corporate governance, and outside general counsel services. He also represents clients in commercial real estate transactions involving warehouse, office, and land leases, as well as real property acquisitions, sales, and development.
Shay has significant experience serving clients in the transportation and logistics industry. Before attending law school, he spent eight years in management roles with a publicly traded transportation and logistics company, providing him with firsthand insight into the operational and business considerations companies face. Prior to joining Erickson Sederstrom, Shay practiced with a transportation-focused law firm where he represented public and private transportation and logistics companies in acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and restructuring transactions.
In addition to transactional work, Shay counsels clients on transportation and regulatory compliance matters, including motor carrier and broker agreements, independent contractor programs, tractor and trailer leasing arrangements, securities disclosure obligations, and risk management considerations. He also advises clients on regulations administered by the Department of Transportation, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and the Nebraska Hemp Farming Act. His experience includes assisting clients with licensing, operating authority, safety and fitness compliance, and related regulatory matters.

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Shay grew up playing hockey and golf before relocating to Nebraska after completing his undergraduate studies. Since moving to Omaha, he has also become an enthusiastic Nebraska football fan. Shay and his wife, Moe, who is a Nebraska native, are raising their three young children while balancing family life with their shared appreciation for sports and the local community.
