Sharon M. Lewonski is a partner in CM Law, LLP’s Atlanta, Georgia office and Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Her Real Estate Law practice focuses on the financing, acquisition, development, management, leasing, restructuring, and disposition of income-generating and distressed real estate assets.
Ms. Lewonski represents lenders, private equity investors, landowners, developers, landlords, tenants, and other real estate stakeholders throughout the project life cycle. She advises clients on site selection, zoning compliance, land use due diligence, commercial leases, space licenses, contract negotiations, construction, property management, leasing, asset portfolio management, and restructuring.
Her experience includes landlord and tenant disputes involving retail, medical office, commercial office, and light industrial properties; multifamily, mixed-use, affordable housing, and mixed-income housing projects and programs; public-private partnership structuring and implementation; and the drafting and negotiation of standard-form construction contracts, including AIA, ConsensusDocs, and EJCDC agreements. Ms. Lewonski also advises clients regarding federal, state, and local laws governing the use, development, and sale of land.
