Biography

Scott is a seasoned litigator with experience in a wide variety of litigation matters, including complex commercial litigation, director and officer liability, construction litigation, class actions, and bankruptcy and insolvency. Scott has acted on matters at all levels of court in Ontario, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, and various administrative tribunals. His practice includes providing top-tier client service to a variety of clients across several industries.

Scott’s approach to litigation is to focus on client needs and to adapt to the requirements of any given file or situation. His expertise covers not only multiple areas of the law, but also multiple fora for the resolution of disputes, including court proceedings, arbitral proceedings and mediations and negotiations.

Scott has demonstrated a strong commitment to mentoring and coaching. He leads his firm’s student recruitment program. In this role, Scott is responsible for overseeing the hiring, mentoring and educating of articling and summer students. He also serves as an articling principal to the firm’s articling students.

Scott is an active member of the legal community and the community-at-large. Scott has authored numerous papers and articles relating to the practice of commercial litigation. Scott also serves on the Executive of the Board of Directors of the Durham Association for Family Resources and Support, a not-for-profit organization devoted to assisting individuals with disabilities and their families. Scott has also devoted many hours to Pro Bono Ontario and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
