Biography

Scott D. Weiss is a dedicated attorney based in Brentwood, Tennessee, affiliated with Kaman & Cusimano LLC. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and later achieved his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Nashville School of Law. His legal practice prominently focuses on Real Estate Law and serves to support homeowner and condominium associations across Tennessee. Scott provides comprehensive legal services to these associations, encompassing areas such as delinquent account collections, restrictions enforcement, insurance defense, and the amendment and interpretation of governing documents. A Nashville native, Scott joined the United States Marine Corps immediately after high school, completing training at the Paris Island, South Carolina, Recruit Depot. He served in various roles including with the 3rd Force Reconnaissance Company, FMF; I CO, 3/24, 4th MARDIV; 4th FSSG. 4th MARDIV; and the Marine Security Battalion in the Republic of Panama. Following the events of 2001, he enlisted in the Tennessee Army National Guard, where he attended Officer Candidate School and worked in Military Intelligence. Scott proudly retired from the Tennessee State Guard as a Colonel in 2015.

Scott contributes to Community Association Management Insider and HOALeader.com, while his articles have also been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The Tennessean. He frequently lectures and writes on significant topics affecting community associations in Tennessee and beyond, showcasing his commitment to advancing understanding and best practices within this field.
