Biography
Scott D. Weiss is an attorney with Kaman & Cusimano LLC, serving clients from Brentwood, Tennessee. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and later received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the Nashville School of Law. His legal practice focuses on representing homeowner and condominium associations throughout Tennessee, with an emphasis on community association matters and Real Estate Law.
Scott advises community associations on a wide range of legal issues, including delinquent account collections, enforcement of covenants and restrictions, insurance defense matters, amendment and interpretation of governing documents, development of rules and regulations, fine and enforcement policies, Fair Housing Act defense, and parliamentarian services. His work involves helping boards navigate compliance, governance, and property-related concerns that affect residential communities.
A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Scott has an extensive background in military service. After graduating from high school, he attended boot camp at the United States Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina, and served with multiple Marine Corps units, including 3rd Force Reconnaissance Company and Marine Security Battalion in the Republic of Panama. Following the attacks of 2001, Scott joined the Tennessee Army National Guard, attended Officer Candidate School, and served in Military Intelligence. He retired from the Tennessee State Guard as a Colonel in 2015.
