Biography

Concentrating his practice on all aspects of patent and trademark prosecution and litigation, Scott brings a well-rounded background that combines legal expertise with hands-on experience in the technology and pharmaceutical industries. Before joining Woodard, he gained valuable experience working for a startup software company, where he conducted corporate and intellectual property legal research to determine how best to protect the company's IP assets. He also worked for a major pharmaceutical company, where he performed patent landscaping research and collaborated directly with scientists to evaluate the patentability of their innovations.

Scott's scientific foundation runs deep. While pursuing his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biology, he served as a biology lab instructor and worked as an assistant in an ecology and evolution lab, where he led research projects and mentored students. This combination of scientific training and real-world industry experience gives him the ability to engage meaningfully with the technical subject matter at the heart of his clients' inventions.

During his time at McKinney School of Law, Scott distinguished himself as a member of Moot Court and the Phi Delta Phi Wilkie Inn legal honor society, developing the advocacy and analytical skills that continue to serve his clients in both prosecution and litigation matters.
