Scott A. Stichter joined Stichter, Riedel, Blain & Postler P.A. in 1987 and became a shareholder in 1993. Based in Tampa, Florida, he focuses his practice on Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law, as well as Litigation – Bankruptcy. Mr. Stichter represents debtors, official committees, creditors, trustees, purchasers, and other parties in interest in bankruptcy proceedings, along with clients involved in out-of-court restructurings and workouts.
In addition to traditional bankruptcy matters, Mr. Stichter has substantial experience representing assignors and assignees in assignments for the benefit of creditors and related creditor proceedings. His work regularly involves complex financial issues arising under federal bankruptcy law and Florida insolvency statutes.
Mr. Stichter was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University in 1984 and received his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1987. While in law school, he served on the Moot Court Board and was a member of the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Team.
Mr. Stichter has been recognized with pro bono service awards from The Florida Bar and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. He previously served as President of the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association and is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy, insolvency, and creditor-debtor law topics for legal and professional organizations.
