Saval Desai

Saval Desai, a registered patent attorney, practices with the firm’s Intellectual Property Group with a concentration in trademark & trade dress and trade secret.

Prior to joining CSG Law, Saval served as an associate at an intellectual property law and litigation-based firm. In this role, she focused on intellectual property matters in federal court including trademark, patent infringement and trade secret disputes. Saval gained significant experience in performing trademark clearance and prosecution before the USPTO and trademark opposition proceedings before the TTAB. Additionally, Saval was involved in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the life sciences/pharma, biological, mechanical, chemical and medical device fields before the USPTO and PCT countries, along with trademark prosecution in the United States and foreign countries.

While in law school, Saval interned for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office as well as the Rutgers Office of the General Counsel. Notably, Saval worked as a clinical student for the Rutgers Intellectual Property Law Clinic for three semesters. In this role, she performed tasks related to patent and trademark clearance and registration.

Saval received her J.D. from Rutgers Law School, where she served as a Senior Editor for the Computer and Technology Law Journal. She earned her B.A. in Biological Anthropology from Drew University.

Saval is fluent in Gujarati and proficient in Hindi.
