Sarah Hahn is a lawyer at Barriston Law LLP in Barrie, Ontario, with a practice focused on municipal law, municipal litigation, land use planning, development, administrative law, and expropriation matters.
Sarah regularly appears before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) and all levels of court in Ontario, representing municipalities, developers, businesses, and private landowners in a wide range of municipal and land development matters.
Her practice includes OLT appeals and motions, official plan and zoning by-law amendments, minor variance and consent applications, site plan approvals and agreements, development charge disputes, and expropriation proceedings. Sarah also advises on municipal governance matters, including conflict of interest issues, municipal elections, drafting municipal by-laws and resolutions, and freedom of information and privacy matters.
In addition, Sarah assists clients with court applications involving property-related matters such as title rectification, vesting orders, prescriptive easements, and rights of way.
Sarah earned her law degree from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2013. She previously served on the Municipal Section Executive of the Ontario Bar Association and was Chair for the 2023–2024 term. Sarah regularly speaks at continuing professional development programs for lawyers and previously taught the LAWS2000 course at Georgian College.
Before attending law school, Sarah worked at a Community Legal Clinic, where she represented individuals in appeals before the Social Benefits Tribunal.
