Sarah E. Merkle advises healthcare providers nationwide on operational and regulatory issues, and represents healthcare entities in transactions and administrative litigation. In addition, Sarah has litigation experience at both the trial and appellate stages in a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, online travel booking, construction, coal mining, and manufacturing.
Sarah is also a professional parliamentarian and presiding officer. One of five lawyers worldwide to have earned the credentials Certified Professional Parliamentarian-Teacher (CPP-T) and Professional Registered Parliamentarian (PRP), she helps boards, associations, corporations, and public bodies navigate rules applicable to governance and business meetings. Sarah is the blog editor and primary contributor for The Law of Order: A Resource on Parliamentary Procedure & the Law.
Sarah served as a law clerk to the Honorable Henry F. Floyd on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. While in law school, she was editor-in-chief of the South Carolina Law Review and named USC’s Outstanding Law Student of the Year by the National Association of Women Lawyers.
Sarah is the former Director of Marketing & Business Operations for the Museum & Gallery at Bob Jones University, which houses one of the largest collections of Old Master paintings in the world.
