Sarah Cross Ryan is a shareholder in the Mobile, Alabama office of Carr Allison. Her practice concentrates on a wide variety of litigation matters in which she defends companies and individuals in retail and hospitality liability, premises liability, workers’ compensation, complex litigation and general liability matters.

Sarah is admitted to practice before the Alabama State Courts, the Middle and Southern District Courts of Alabama, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. She is also admitted to practice in the Poarch Creek Indians Tribal Court. Sarah represents her clients’ interests pre-suit and in litigation. She is also experienced in representing clients in alternative dispute forums.

Sarah earned her Bachelors of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University. She received her Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University (AL). While at Cumberland, she served as a Research Assistant to Professor Alyssa DiRusso and assisted in the production of the article entitled “He Says, She Says: Gender, Language, and the Law of the Precatory Words in Wills.” The article was published in the Wisconsin Women’s Law Journal, Volume 22, 2007.

Sarah is a member of the American Bar Association, the Mobile Bar Association, the Baldwin County Bar Association, the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and Alabama Workers’ Compensation Organization. Sarah has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America (2020-2021) for her work in Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants.

She is a long time member of the Junior League of Mobile. She served as Chair of the Girl Scouts of South Alabama Fit and Fun Committee in it is inaugural year. She has held other leadership positions throughout her time in the league. Additionally, Sarah has served as a Vanderbilt CoRPs (Commodore Recruitment Program) volunteer for more than 10 years.

Out of the office, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and enjoying all that the Gulf Coast has to offer.
