Biography

Santosh Aravind is a trial and appellate lawyer at Scott Douglass & McConnico LLP in Austin, Texas. A former federal prosecutor, he represents individuals and companies in white-collar criminal investigations, regulatory enforcement proceedings, cybersecurity matters, and complex commercial litigation. His practice includes matters involving the Securities and Exchange Commission, the United States Department of Justice, the Texas Attorney General, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, and other state regulatory agencies.

Santosh has chaired or co-chaired 15 trials, including nine during his service as a federal prosecutor in New York City. He has also briefed and argued appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and Texas state appellate courts. In addition to his litigation and appellate work, Santosh advises startup technology companies, oil and gas businesses, and clients involved in complex business disputes and internal investigations.

Before joining Scott Douglass & McConnico LLP, Santosh served for more than five years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. In that role, he investigated and prosecuted matters involving securities fraud, bank fraud, tax fraud, racketeering, public corruption, international money laundering, weapons offenses, organized crime, and international narcotics trafficking.

Prior to his government service, Santosh was an associate in the litigation department of the New York office of Latham & Watkins LLP from 2005 to 2009. His practice included securities litigation, government investigations, and complex commercial litigation on behalf of individuals and corporate clients.
