Samantha has particular experience working for health related clients, including private and public hospital operators, not-for-profit organisations, aged care and retirement village operators, Medicare Locals and Local Health Districts.

During her time at Thomson Geer, she has worked on major health projects, including acquisitions, restructures and arrangements between both State and Commonwealth governments and private hospital operators.

Samantha frequently advises on regulatory issues relating to Health Insurance Act, anti-bribery and prohibited practices, privacy, competitions and national and health practitioner regulations.

Recent experience includes:

  • Advising Lifehouse Australia on its arrangements to provide public patient services as a part of its integrated cancer facility located on the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital campus in Sydney. This is a unique and complex arrangement involving a number of contractual agreements.
  • Advising a large Australian health services provider in its restructuring, including the consolidations of its public health services, and its ages care and retirement village entities.
  • Acting for a Catholic aged care operator in its most recent acquisition of aged care facilities and retirement villages in Cairns and Melbourne.
