About Samantha
Samantha is an experienced insurance litigator with a strong background in general and public liability.
What she does
Samantha represents insurers, airports, sporting clubs and water authorities in defending liability, personal injury and property damage claims and matters involving workplace injuries and statutory entitlements. Samantha also pursues recovery actions on behalf of her clients. Through secondments and working in-house at insured businesses, Samantha has gained an appreciation and understanding of the commercial issues affecting those businesses. She brings a client’s perspective to claims management and litigation. Samantha has managed claims across almost all Australian jurisdictions.
Who she works with
Samantha works on behalf of national and international insurers, water authorities, sporting clubs and facilities, and airports.
Qualifications
Samantha holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a major in International Relations from Deakin University and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Leo Cussen Institute. She was admitted to practice in 2011.
Life before Sparkes
Prior to joining Sparkes in 2016, Samantha worked in a small insurance law firm predominantly handling property damage recovery claims. She later worked at a claims management company handling large under-deductible claims and liaising directly with insurers, the insured businesses and injured third parties.
Life outside of Sparkes
When she is not caring for her two young children (born just 11 months apart), Samantha enjoys sipping tea whilst watching trashy reality TV shows and dining at some of Melbourne’s best restaurants.
