Sal Lim is a co-founder of Alberti Lim & Tonkovich LLP and a trial lawyer based in Foster City, California. He has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in patent litigation, post-grant proceedings, and other intellectual property disputes. Sal has served as lead counsel in patent matters involving complex technologies and works with clients on litigation strategy, technology-related legal issues, and business objectives.
Sal represents clients throughout all phases of U.S. patent litigation, including district court and appellate proceedings,International Trade Commission investigations, and Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings such as inter partes reviews. He also advises clients on patent licensing, patent portfolio valuation, and intellectual property monetization strategies.
His technical background includes hardware and software technologies such as computer architecture, semiconductors, microprocessors, and memory; network and internet technologies such as telecommunication systems, routers and switches, streaming technologies, and video-on-demand systems; and consumer and emerging technologies, including smartphones, televisions, wearable devices, application testing, data compression, cryptography, and cryptocurrency.
