Ryan Quinlan

Ryan Quinlan is an Edmonton lawyer with Duncan Craig LLP whose practice includes Insolvency and Financial Restructuring Law, debt recovery, foreclosures and commercial litigation. He acts for debtors, creditors, trustees, receivers and monitors in insolvency matters throughout Alberta.

Ryan advises clients on debt recovery actions, security enforcement and foreclosure proceedings. His commercial litigation practice includes fraud claims, shareholder disputes, oppression claims, creditor remedies, lease disputes, priority disputes and construction litigation.

Ryan has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Canada, including its Trial and Appellate divisions. He joined Duncan Craig LLP in December 2017. Before joining the firm, Ryan clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal and practised with an international law firm.

“I entered the legal profession with the goal of helping people and contributing to the resolution of interesting and complex issues. I take my responsibilities seriously and focus on producing careful, high-quality work while providing practical advice whenever possible.

I primarily act in financial recovery matters for creditors and plaintiffs, debtors and defendants, and court officers. Many clients want a lawyer who can guide them through an unfamiliar court process, provide timely and clear advice, and offer practical recommendations that address both their legal and business concerns. My goal is to help clients protect their positions, advance their interests and manage their legal issues as efficiently as possible.

Helping clients navigate difficult legal matters with greater clarity and confidence is an important part of my practice. I have been fortunate to become a trusted advisor to many clients and to receive referrals from former clients and other counsel.”

Outside of his legal practice, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family and playing soccer and hockey.
