Ryan D. Kitzul

Ryan Kitzul’s litigation experience is diverse and includes medical negligence, privacy, professional liability and professional regulatory matters. Ryan is also an experienced commercial litigator, successfully representing both plaintiffs and defendants at all levels of court in Saskatchewan and the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta.

Ryan has acted as counsel for health service providers across Saskatchewan. He has considerable experience working with The Health Information Protection Act, The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, The Health Care Directives and Substitute Health Care Decision Makers Act, The Adult Guardianship and Co-decision- making Act, The Public Guardian and Trustee Act and The Mental Health Services. Ryan also has a strong understanding of The Provincial Health Authority Act and works with health care organizations in interpreting and applying their respective practitioner staff bylaws and related legislation.

Ryan’s health law practice also includes advising health industry client’s on day to day operational issues, including matters related to discipline, privileging, privacy, and consent. Ryan is a frequent presenter at continuing education events for health practitioners on these and other medico-legal topics.
