Ryan Cappy

Ryan Cappy was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and graduated Cum Laude from Jesuit High School in 1993. He attended Florida State University, where he served as president of the Interfraternity Council, before earning his Juris Doctor from the Florida State University College of Law in 2000. While in law school, he received the Book Award in Constitutional Law, an honor presented to the student demonstrating outstanding academic achievement in the subject.

Ryan began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney with the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, where he handled more than 50 jury trials and over 200 non-jury trials involving both felony and misdemeanor matters. He later practiced with a Tampa insurance defense firm before transitioning to plaintiff representation in 2007. His background representing insurance companies and insured clients provides valuable insight into how insurance claims are evaluated and defended.

Today, Ryan focuses his practice on Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs, representing individuals and families throughout Tampa and surrounding Florida communities in personal injury and wrongful death matters. His experience includes cases involving car accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, drunk driving accidents, slip and fall injuries, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation claims, dog bites, product liability, and Social Security disability matters.

In addition to his legal practice with The Law Offices of Ryan Cappy, Ryan has been recognized in publications and organizations including the Tampa Bay Times, Jesuit Alumni Magazine, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Florida State College of Communication and Information, and the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

Ryan resides in Tampa with his wife and two children.
