Ryan Bliss

Ryan Bliss joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2012. He is a Partner with the firm, leads the workers’ compensation department, and serves as the firm’s Director of Legal Technology. Based in Durham, North Carolina, Ryan represents injured employees in Workers’ Compensation Law for Claimants and is committed to advocating for the rights of workers throughout North Carolina.

Ryan approaches his practice with a focus on clear communication, thoughtful strategy, and practical problem-solving. He values the trust his clients place in him and works diligently to help them navigate the workers’ compensation process after a workplace injury. His role within the firm also includes advancing legal technology initiatives that support efficiency and client service.

Ryan grew up in a small suburb of Syracuse, New York, where he developed a lifelong appreciation for music through playing instruments, acting, and singing in plays and musicals. His father worked for a large tool company, and his mother spent more than two decades in the public school system as a teacher and librarian.

Throughout his childhood, Ryan’s parents emphasized the importance of hard work, perseverance, and giving back to the community. As the independent middle child, Ryan carried those values into adulthood and his legal career, where they continue to shape his dedication to serving injured workers and their families.
