About Rushil
Rushil is an experienced commercial lawyer who provides commercially pragmatic and trusted legal advice to Commonwealth Government agencies across a range of procurement and contracting, probity, privacy and freedom of information (FOI) matters.
What she does
Rushil works with clients on contracting issues and disputes as well as significant procurement projects and probity requirements, including drafting contracts and tender documentation. She is an experienced FOI and privacy practitioner, advising on the application of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme, conducting Privacy Impact Assessments, and acting for Commonwealth Government agencies on their obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth).

Rushil works with corporate and non-corporate Commonwealth entities.
Qualifications
Rushil has a Bachelor of Communication Studies and Bachelor of Laws from Western Sydney University, and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University.
Life before Sparkes
Before joining Sparke Helmore, Rushil held in-house legal roles for Commonwealth agencies, including the Department of Education, Skills and Employment, and the former Department of Human Services. This experience has given her a unique understanding of the broader political, policy, strategic and whole-of-department concerns and objectives affecting Commonwealth Government agencies.
Life outside of Sparkes
Outside of Sparke Helmore, Rushil is always looking for new plant specimens to add to her growing urban jungle. She also uses her hobby of nature and landscape photography as an excuse to travel, where she mostly takes in the gastronomical delights of the places she visits.
