Ross Swanson is a lawyer with Duncan Craig LLP in Edmonton, Alberta, and co-leader of the firm’s Business Solutions Group. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, including acquisitions and divestitures, corporate finance, corporate reorganizations and corporate governance.

Ross advises public and private companies, not-for-profit organizations and banks on a range of business matters, including asset and share acquisitions and dispositions, amalgamations, private equity financings and other corporate and commercial transactions.
Ross is also a Registered Trade-mark Agent with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. His intellectual property work includes copyright, licensing and trade-mark matters, including filing and opposition proceedings.

Ross completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993 and a Law degree in 1997. After being called to the Alberta Bar in 1998, he completed Parts I and II of the In-Depth Tax Course offered by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. The two-year program was designed for chartered accountants and lawyers and focused on tax matters.
Ross was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in Canada in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 for Corporate Law.
Ross is an active member and Director of the Royal Glenora Club. He is a Past Chair of the Canadian Bar Association National Business Law Subsection, Treasurer of the Canadian Bar Association Tax Law Subsection (Alberta), and President of the University of Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas Tennis Alumni Association.
Ross also serves as a member of the advisory boards of several middle-market private companies and a private equity firm.
