Rosa Antunez Boatwright has always been driven to stand up for others as well as for herself. That determination was shaped early in life, growing up in Honduras, and later strengthened through personal challenges after immigrating to the United States.
As a child, Rosa was raised in an upper-middle-class family in Honduras. Her mother worked as a psychologist, and her father owned a candy factory. Like many families in Central and Latin America, they employed household help, and Rosa recalls a childhood where daily responsibilities were minimal.
That sense of stability changed during her junior year of high school when Hurricane Mitch struck Honduras. One of the deadliest Atlantic hurricanes on record, it destroyed infrastructure, displaced families, and eliminated thousands of businesses, including her father’s factory.
Determined to rebuild, Rosa’s family relocated to Florida. Her parents took on cleaning jobs to support the household. Rosa often reflects on her father’s work ethic and pride in service. He would leave flowers behind for his clients, a small gesture that led to loyal customers and eventually the creation of a successful cleaning business. From that experience, Rosa learned the value of perseverance and personal commitment—principles that continue to guide her legal career.
Today, Rosa Antunez Boatwright brings that same resolve to her work as an attorney with the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. Based in Durham, North Carolina, she focuses her practice on Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs, representing individuals and families dealing with the physical, emotional, and financial consequences of serious injuries. She is mindful that her clients are often navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives, and she approaches each case with diligence, compassion, and determination.
Throughout her life and career, Rosa has encountered many moments that required resilience and adaptation. Each experience has reinforced her belief in persistence, accountability, and the importance of advocating for those who need a strong legal voice.
