Rory Barnable

Rory has a diverse range of litigation experience. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, and various levels of court in Ontario, and Newfoundland and Labrador. He handles insurance coverage, defence and subrogation matters, construction deficiencies and professional liability claims, and his transportation practice has involved multimodal cargo transport, environmental claims, collisions, derailments, and groundings. His general litigation experience includes class actions, fraud actions, D&O actions, contractual disputes, defamation claims, environmental and municipal law matters.

Rory is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Ontario Bar Association, and has an Osgoode Hall Law School Certificate in Construction Law.

Before starting his firm, Rory was a partner at a prominent Toronto litigation firm, acting as a chair of the property insurance practice group, the insurance coverage practice group and the marine practice group. He formerly practised litigation at leading, full service firms in Ontario and in Atlantic Canada.

Rory has a Masters of Laws from University College London, University of London, along with a LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick, and a B.A. from McGill University.
