Biography
The emphasis of Mr. Dreyer's practice is personal injury trial practice, specializing in the areas of catastrophic injuries and wrongful death matters. He has tried to conclusion in excess of 100 civil cases. During the course of his career, Mr. Dreyer has obtained in excess of 100 seven-figure verdicts and settlements. He has obtained multi-million dollar verdicts in wrongful death matters, catastrophic brain and spinal injury cases as well as public entity matters. He was sought out by the ownership of the Oakland Raiders to try the complex business fraud case as trial counsel for the Raiders against the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum and other defendants resulting in a finding of fraud against those entities in the largest business fraud verdict in Sacramento County history. He has been recognized as one of the leading trial lawyers in California and the recipient of the Cal-Abota Trial Lawyer of the Year and recognized in SuperLawyers as one of the top 10 lawyers in Northern California. He is also active on community boards, serving on the Child Abuse Prevention Center Board and the Teachable Moment foundation board which is dedicated to making changes in how we deal with drunk drivers and changing behavior to prevent such drivers from being on the road. His community work has resulted in him being recognized as the Board Member of the Year by the Non Profit Board and the Chamber of Commerce in the Sacramento Region in 2002.

- Lopez v. DAV Charities
Ms. Lopez was a 58 yr old hispanic who was on the way home from her job as a clerk at the 99 Cent Store when she was broadsided by a truck operated by an employee of the defendant who was intoxicated. She suffered major brain damage. The defendant had only $3mm in insurance. It was demanded and not tendered. The case went to trial in Fresno County and resulted in the largest verdict for such an injury in that county; $10.5mm. The significance is that the carrier paid the entire judgment due to their conduct of exposing their insured to an excess verdict.
- Betts v. State of California
The Betts were a 74 and 70 yr old couple who had been married for 50 years when Mr. Betts was struck by a vehicle during a snow storm when he was putting snow chains on a vehicle. Mr. Betts was a registered snow chain installer and operating where the State designated such installers to operate. He suffered major brain damage. The jury returned a verdict agaisnt the State for the dangerous condition that existed and their failure to adequately warn the motoring public. the jury returned the largest verdict in El Dorado County history in the sum of $17mm.
- Oakland Raiders v. OACC
Represented the Oakland Raiders in a fraud case against the Oakland entities for falsely inducing the Raiders to leave LA for Oakland in 1995. The verdict for the Raiders for $35mm was the largest fraud verdict in Sac County history for a business fraud action. The jury determined that Al Davis and his team had been deceived and damaged as a result of the entities conduct. The entities had denied the fraud and never made any offer to settle the matter.
- Strange v. Entercom
Water intoxication death of a 28 yr old mother of three from participation in a radio station contest. Largest verdict for a wrongful death case in Sac County history; $16.6 million. Held a radio station accountable and responsible for holding a life threatening contest. The jury found no comparative on the victim and determined the radio staion was responsible and failed to properly inform the contestants. Impacted the radio industry to do a better job and not put contestants at risk.
