Robert Stewart practises business law and over his career has gained a broad range of experience acting on M&A transactions, IPOs and other public capital-raising transactions, venture capital deals, joint ventures and partnerships, and the negotiation of major services and outsourcing arrangements.
Robert provides legal advice to all manner of business clients, whether public or private, large or small, domestic or multinational. He has a particular interest in advising start-up and emerging technology businesses, and advancing the goals of the entrepreneur. But regardless of the client, Robert’s approach is practical, creative and based on a foundation of trust.
Robert also teams up with the firm’s Social Impact Group in advising social impact enterprises and developing social finance solutions. This has included acting as Business Law Lead on the first Canadian federally-funded social impact bond issued by a large Canadian charity.
Prior to his tenure with Miller Thomson, Robert worked in international taxation law at one of the world’s leading professional services firms.
