Biography

Bob began practicing law in Aiken, South Carolina as an associate at the firm of Williams and Johnson in 1976, where he practiced as an associate and later as a partner until the early 1990s. He then formed Buchanan Law Office, P.A., where he practiced until he joined Hull Barrett, PC as a partner in 2018. Bob has represented plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death matters, including cases involving automobile, motorcycle, truck and train accidents, as well as injuries resulting from premises liability.

He has represented plaintiffs in product liability cases involving injuries and property damage resulting from defective industrial equipment and consumer products, and represented claimants in workers’ compensation cases. He also represents plaintiffs and defendants in general business and corporate governance disputes, including minority shareholder oppression, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, unfair trade practices and other business cases, as well as probate, estate and trust disputes and litigation. As a part-time magistrate judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, he does not practice criminal defense.
