Bob Donnelly is a founding member of Goodman Allen Donnelly PLLC and has devoted more than three decades to trial advocacy on behalf of defendants in complex civil litigation. Based in Glen Allen, Virginia, his practice centers on defending physicians, hospitals, and other health care professionals in medical malpractice matters in Virginia state and federal courts. Over the course of his career, Bob has represented hundreds of health care providers and has taken more than 70 jury trials to verdict.
Bob’s trial work includes numerous high‑exposure medical malpractice cases, with defense verdicts reported by Virginia Lawyers Weekly over many consecutive years. In one calendar year alone, he tried six significant cases to verdict, including several matters involving substantial claimed damages. His courtroom experience also extends to defending attorneys in professional malpractice law matters and representing defendants in personal injury litigation, as well as handling commercial litigation disputes for small businesses.
Bob’s work has been acknowledged by peer‑review publications and professional organizations, including recognition in Best Lawyers in America for Medical Malpractice Defense, U.S. News and World Report and Best Lawyers Magazine, Virginia’s “Legal Elite” in civil litigation by Virginia Business Magazine, and inclusion in Virginia Super Lawyers for Medical Malpractice Defense.
