Robert E. Haslam is the founder of The Haslam Firm LLP in Fort Worth, Texas. His practice focuses on Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs, wrongful death litigation, insurance disputes, and other claims involving serious injuries or loss caused by negligence or wrongful conduct.
Mr. Haslam represents individuals and families throughout Fort Worth, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and across Texas. He has tried cases in more than 15 Texas counties, as well as in California, New York, Oklahoma, and Missouri. As of November 2018, he had personally tried more than 100 cases as lead counsel. Attorneys from across the country have also asked him to serve as local counsel or second chair in additional matters.
Mr. Haslam is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is admitted to practice in Texas and Oklahoma, before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
His personal injury and wrongful death practice includes truck and motor vehicle collisions, defective products, premises liability, professional malpractice, construction accidents, brain injuries, and oil field deaths. He also represents policyholders in insurance claims that have been delayed or denied in bad faith. Throughout his career, Mr. Haslam has obtained jury verdicts and negotiated settlements in a variety of personal injury and wrongful death matters.
Mr. Haslam has been included in The Best Lawyers in America in the practice area of Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs. This recognition is based on a peer-review survey of lawyers practicing in the same geographic region and legal practice area. The Texas Board of Legal Specialization appointed him to serve two three-year terms on its annual review committee.
A past president of the Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association, Mr. Haslam is a member of the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America and the American Association for Justice. He earned his Juris Doctor from The University of Tulsa College of Law in 1986, where he served on the Tulsa Law Review.
In 1993, Mr. Haslam received the Outstanding Young Lawyer of Tarrant County award after serving as president of the Tarrant County Young Lawyers. His daughter, Elizabeth Haslam Schultz, also served as president of the organization. They were the first father-daughter presidents in Fort Worth, Texas, history.
