Trial lawyer Robert Fabrikant litigates complex civil and criminal cases for clients in the healthcare, financial services, defense and energy sectors. He defends companies that are the target of False Claims Act–related government investigations and litigation, and conducts internal investigations.
Upon graduating from law school, Bob served as the senior law clerk to the Honorable Warren E. Burger of The Supreme Court. He has also worked as chief counsel to the Monetary Authority of Singapore, was an assistant U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia and was a trial attorney in the Antitrust Division at the U.S. DOJ. Before joining Manatt, he chaired the healthcare practice at another major international law firm.
An active member of the American Bar Association, Bob cofounded the False Claims Act and Qui Tam Subcommittee of the White Collar Crime Committee and co-chaired the subcommittee from 1992 to 2001. In addition, he founded the Health Care Fraud and Abuse Subcommittee of the White Collar Crime Committee and served as its chair from 1991 to 2000.
Bob is a professor in the practice at Howard University School of Law, where he taught constitutional law, legal history and introduction to legal methods; provided academic support; and coached the moot court team for 12 years.
In addition, Bob has been an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center; the University of Southern California Gould School of Law; Fudan University School of Law in Shanghai, China; the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law; and the Transnational Law and Business University in Seoul, South Korea.
