Biography

Rob Remington is one of the country’s premier trial lawyers, trusted by clients to handle their most significant disputes. With a national litigation practice spanning complex commercial, construction and real estate matters, Rob is known for developing winning case strategies, delivering exceptional courtroom advocacy and helping clients navigate business-critical challenges with confidence.

Clients consistently describe Rob as a “Class A” trial lawyer with an uncommon ability to distill highly technical issues into compelling stories that resonate with judges and juries. Whether trying a case, leading settlement negotiations or counseling clients through project risk, Rob combines strategic business judgment with decades of trial experience to achieve practical, result-driven outcomes.

As national construction counsel to privately held and publicly traded companies, Rob advises clients throughout the entire lifecycle of a project—from contract negotiation and risk management to claims avoidance, litigation and dispute resolution. His experience includes construction defects, delay and disruption claims, contract disputes, labor issues, payment and performance bond claims, mechanics’ liens, bid protests, geotechnical matters and alternative dispute resolution.

Rob serves as national construction counsel to a number of leading industry companies and has successfully handled litigation in jurisdictions across the United States, including Ohio, California, New York, Illinois, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan, Tennessee, Colorado, Mississippi and Hawaii.

Having spent his entire legal career at Hahn Loeser, Rob serves on the Board of Directors, is the firm’s National Litigation Chair, and co-chairs the firm’s Construction Practice Group. The Construction Practice Group is recognized as a “Top-Rated” group by ChambersUSA®, a National Tier 1 Group by Best Lawyers of America®, and a top 50 national construction practice group by the Construction Executive Magazine.

Rob has been recognized individually every year by ChambersUSA® since the rankings were introduced in 2004 and is currently ranked as a “Top-Rated” Construction lawyer in Ohio, an achievement that reflects two decades of consistent excellence. Clients interviewed by Chambers praise his “outstanding level of expertise” and “exceptional understanding of the complex and intricate details” of the construction industry. He has also been repeatedly recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® and Ohio Super Lawyers® and is a long-standing member of the American Arbitration Association Large and Complex Case Panel and the Construction Lawyers Society of America.

In addition to his practice, Rob is a sought-after speaker and author on construction law, presenting nationally on topics including contract drafting, claims avoidance, project documentation, mechanics’ liens, bond claims, dispute resolution and effective project delivery.

Client Testimonials

I have had numerous and on-going business dealings with Mr. Remington for well over a decade. He is the consummate professional; well prepared, timely and effective. What makes him an outstanding attorney in my view is his common sense bottom-line approach to legal matters.

Rob Remington is an outstanding litigator and a tremendous resource for practical business and technical matters. Rob has saved my company countless hours of work and significant monetary savings by applying his practical, yet technical expertise to our issues as they arise. I have not found an issue yet that Rob cannot either work with me on directly or find the right resource for me.
