Rita Massie Biser

Rita Massie Biser is an experienced trial attorney and litigator. A Managing Member of the firm, she primarily practices in the areas of medical professional liability and personal injury defense. Ms. Biser has substantial experience defending hospitals, nursing homes and other health care providers in actions brought under West Virginia's Medical Professional Liability Act (MPLA). Her litigation and trial experience also includes personal injury defense, nursing home litiation, premises liability, employment law, products liability, and wrongful death.

Ms. Biser graduated magna cum laude from Marshall University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Criminal Justice and Psychology. In 1996, she received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the West Virginia University College of Law where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif and was a recipient of the Patrick Duffy Koontz Award. While in law school, Ms. Biser was a member of the West Virginia Law Review where she served as the Executive Editor of the National Coal Issue.

Ms. Biser currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia and has been named in Cambridge Who's Who Registry of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs. She is a member of the West Virginia State Bar and the Defense Research Institute. Ms. Biser is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in West Virginia.
