Richard Wright is a partner in the Corporate Practice Group. He
advises financial services providers on a broad range of matters. Richard has
more than 36 years of experience representing financial institutions in
commercial loan transactions, commercial collection and foreclosure,
bankruptcy, workouts, and loan restructurings. Richard has represented lenders,
investors, and sellers in multimillion-dollar real estate transactions
throughout the southeastern and Gulf Coast states. A significant portion
of Richard’s practice has involved advising regional and community banks in
matters concerning bank operations, loan participations, loan documentation
compliance with Alabama law, and bank regulatory matters, particularly those
regarding impaired and special assets. Richard represents banks in the
evaluation and defense of claims brought by borrowers and has both brought and
defended title insurance and foreclosure redemption claims. Prior to private
practice, Richard served as a law clerk to Judge Edwin Breland of the US
Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Alabama.
