Rebekka Veith is a partner in Fishman Haygood’s Litigation Section. Her diverse practice includes appellate work, class actions/mass actions/MDLs, fraudulent transfer and specialized bankruptcy litigation, and insurance coverage cases.
Rebekka is known by her clients for being diligent and for her ability to resolve issues cordially but without concession. She currently represents a Louisiana law firm in protecting its interests in hurricane cases acquired from an out-of-state law firm that was barred from practicing in Louisiana due to extensive professional misconduct. She was also part of the team that recently prosecuted securities fraud claims assigned by investors to Craig Jalbert, Liquidating Trustee of German Pellets Louisiana and Louisiana Pellets, Inc., against Raymond James as underwriter of over $330 million of public finance municipal bonds used to construct a wood pellet manufacturing facility.
As a young attorney, Rebekka has successfully handled all aspects of litigation, from initiating lawsuits to arguing appeals. In the last four years alone, Rebekka has completed five jury trials; most recently, she tried a case on behalf of a charter school and the Orleans Parish School Board related to defective construction work at a school building that resulted in the displacement of school children. The month-long trial was held in Orleans Parish Civil District Court and concluded in early February 2025 with a verdict that will total $10 million with interests and costs for the firm’s clients.
She has also tried cases to the bench and has participated in multiple complex arbitrations.
Rebekka is committed to educating the next generation of lawyers. Since 2023, she has presented on “Trial Skills” at Justice Camp events hosted by the New Orleans Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. And since the 2022-23 school year, she has served as a Trial Advocacy: General Litigation lecturer at Tulane University Law School, her alma mater.
Rebekka serves as the 2025-2026 Treasurer of the Federal Bar Association – New Orleans Chapter‘s Younger Lawyers Division Board and is a member of the Association for Women Attorneys – New Orleans. She also serves on the Advisory Board of Editors for Tulane Law Review.
Active in the community, Rebekka is Vice Chair on the Board of Directors for HandsOn New Orleans, a nonprofit organization that creates and manages service projects relating to public school revitalization, youth recreation, neighborhood development, urban gardening, and environmental restoration. Rebekka sits on the Board of Trustees for Camp Hardtner in Pollock, La., and is an involved alumnus of Benjamin Franklin High School in New Orleans.
Rebekka received her law degree cum laude from Tulane. In law school, she was elected the Senior Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review and served on the Dean’s Advisory Committee. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable Dee D. Drell of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.
Rebekka has been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under List – South since 2023. She is a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Business Litigation, Civil Litigation, Environmental Litigation, and Bankruptcy: Business.
