Rachael McKendrick

Rachael is a disputes lawyer with a focus on building and construction disputes, defamation, debt recovery, contractual disputes and estate disputes.

Rachael enjoys working with clients to develop a strategy to achieve an outcome.

She has experience representing clients in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), as well as the Magistrates’ Court, County Court and Supreme Court.

Rachael can assist individuals or companies initiate winding up proceedings if a company has not paid a debt. She is also familiar with initiating bankruptcy proceedings if the debtor is an individual.

Rachael has advised business owners, builders, tradespersons and tenants of property who are involved in a dispute. The disputes are often due to contracts being poorly written, verbal in nature or because of an unpaid debt.

She has experience in resolving these issues quickly and without fuss.

Rachael has helped a number of individuals successfully dispute wills that they have been left out of or left inadequate provision. She also has experience in defending claims made by individuals against deceased estates.

She is the author of Robinson Gill’s #contestawillwithrobinsongill series which she regularly publishes. The series is designed to demonstrate the real-life realities of contesting a will using easy-to-read stories, as opposed to legal case notes.

Prior to being admitted, Rachael was a law clerk in Robinson Gill’s injury and disputes team.

Rachael completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Deakin University. She was a graduate of Methodist Ladies College in Melbourne.

Rachael spent one year abroad as part of an exchange, studying at Brighton University in the United Kingdom.
