Background and Path to the Legal Profession

A North Carolina native, Preston grew up in Mount Olive and developed an early interest in the legal profession through exposure to a local attorney serving his community. He pursued that interest at North Carolina State University, where he earned a degree in History with a minor in Political Science, before continuing to North Carolina Central University School of Law.

While in law school, Preston graduated cum laude and was actively involved in academic and service-oriented activities. He served as a Staff Editor for the Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Law Review and participated in programs providing pro bono assistance to individuals in need, including elder law and tax assistance clinics.

Legal Experience and Litigation Practice

Preston joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2017 and has developed a practice focused on representing individuals in a broad array of personal injury and complex litigation matters. He has argued cases before the North Carolina Supreme Court and the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and he is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina.
