Pierre-L. Baribeau acts as a strategic counsel to senior executives and boards of directors of both private and public corporations and organizations in Quebec and other provinces in Canada. His practice includes providing legal advice and acting as attorney in class actions in Quebec, Canada and the United States, including on civil law and Aboriginal law. He has been practising in labour/employment and health/administrative law, acting as special advisor to management on human resources and negotiating collective agreements.
Mr. Baribeau has authored many articles on labour law and health law. He co-authored the Guide des gestionnaires des accidents du travail [Industrial Accidents Management Guide].
Mr. Baribeau has been a guest lecturer for provincial and national organizations, such as the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines et en relations industrielles agréés du Québec, the Société des experts en évaluation médico-légale du Québec, the Association des médecins en milieu de travail, the Quebec Bar, the Canadian Institute, Insight, the Association québécoise d’établissements de santé et de services sociaux and the Chambre de commerce du Québec.
The LEXPERT®/ American Lawyer Media Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada has been listing Mr. Baribeau's name since it began conducting its surveys. He was selected again in 2006 among the leading lawyers in Canada and Quebec in the fields of Employment Law and Labour Law. He is also listed in The Canadian Legal LEXPERT® Directory 2014 in the fields of Employment Law and Labour Relations. In addition, Mr. Baribeau is listed in the 2017 edition of Best Lawyers in Canada as a leading practitioner in the field of Labour and Employment Law.
Mr. Pierre-L. Baribeau is the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, which was awarded to him on November 21, 2012. In 2013, he also received the 2013 Pro Bono-Rajpattie-Persaud Award by the Québec Branch of the Canadian Bar Association (ABC-Québec). This award recognizes each year the exceptional contribution of a member of ABC-Québec to the community.
