Biography
Peter was born in Trondheim, Norway in 1963. After immigrating to United States as a child, he lived in New York. His family finally settled in Seattle, Washington, where he attended the University of Washington, receiving a degree in History in 1985. He received his law degree from Willamette University in 1989 and worked in the Civil Trial Division of the Oregon Department of Justice.
As a prosecuting attorney in Seattle for six years, Peter prosecuted approximately 50 jury trials along with several hundred non-jury trials. He also has extensive experience writing and arguing appeals before the appellate courts in Washington, including the Washington State Supreme Court.
Peter brought his trial and appellate experience to civil practice, joining GLR in 1996, where he specializes in defense of medical malpractice and personal injury claims. He has litigated cases to juries in both Montana Federal and State Courts. He is a member of Washington and Montana State Bars, the Western Montana Bar Association, and the Montana Defense Trial Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice law in Montana and Washington, as well as the Federal District Court in Montana.
Peter donates time assisting the Missoula County Crime Victim Advocates, judging moot court at the University of Montana Law School and speaking at seminars on medical malpractice. Peter and his wife Maria, a Missoula native, enjoy outdoor recreation and travel with their three children.
