Biography

Paul R. Dickinson, Jr. is a trial attorney with the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, representing injured individuals in Charlotte, North Carolina. His practice focuses on Mass Tort Litigation and Class Actions for plaintiffs, as well as Personal Injury Litigation for plaintiffs. Paul is committed to helping clients navigate the legal process after serious injuries and pursue accountability through the civil justice system.

“Many of my clients have said they didn’t know who to turn to after they were injured, or how to try to hold someone accountable for what happened — that’s why we do what we do.”

Originally from Florida, Paul did not initially plan on a career in law. He earned a degree in Finance from the University of South Florida and began working in sales after college. That experience ultimately helped clarify his professional goals and led him to consider law school.

During that time, Paul frequently crossed paths with former Florida Appellate Court Judge E.J. Salcines, who encouraged him to pursue a legal career. Judge Salcines, a graduate of South Texas College of Law in Houston, suggested Paul apply there based on its litigation-focused curriculum. Paul followed that advice and discovered a strong interest in advocacy and trial work while in law school.

Paul began his legal career handling defense-side personal injury cases, where he represented businesses and corporate clients. That experience gave him insight into how injury claims are evaluated and defended. He knew early on that he wanted to focus his practice on trial litigation and representing individuals rather than corporations.

In 1993, Paul and his family relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he shifted his focus to plaintiffs’ personal injury litigation. Over the years, he has tried cases in both federal and state courts and has obtained multiple seven-figure jury verdicts. He has also resolved numerous cases through settlement prior to trial, including matters involving significant damages.

Today, Paul continues to represent clients across North Carolina in personal injury cases, mass tort litigation, and class actions. He works closely with clients to understand their circumstances and to advocate for them throughout every stage of the legal process.
