Paul J. Van Osselaer is principal of Van Osselaer Dispute Resolution PLLC, based in Austin, Texas. Paul has a national practice in mediating insurance coverage, bad faith and risk transfer cases, conducting them all over the United States. Paul is a “Distinguished Fellow” of the prestigious International Academy of Mediators, has earned admission to the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, and, in his home state, is a “Credentialed Distinguished Mediator,” the highest credential of the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association. He is repeatedly recognized by Best Lawyers® in Insurance Law and by SuperLawyers® in both ADR and Insurance Coverage.
Paul has mediated coverage and indemnity disputes of all types and sizes and his training includes AAA Advanced Mediator Training on multi-party cases. He is former vice-chair of the ABA’s Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee, currently co-chair of its ADR Subcommittee, and is a frequent speaker at the ABA, RIMS, and elsewhere on mediation and settlement of coverage disputes.
Paul has mediated cases from coast to coast involving a wide range of policies and insurance/risk transfer programs, including large commercial first party losses, complex coverage and allocation issues, Paul also bring his experience as a former trial lawyer, having tried coverage and bad faith cases to verdicts from both sides having served as lead counsel in all federal districts in Texas and in eight other districts from California to DC.Paul earned both his B.A. and his J.D. from the University of Texas.
