Paul Dunbar’s practice focuses on transactions for private equity clients, advising on public and private corporate M&A, asset portfolio M&A, distressed M&A, joint ventures and preferred equity investments.Paul works with clients investing in a broad range of sectors, including financial services and fintech, real estate, energy, manufacturing and industrials, infrastructure, transportation, healthcare, and retail.Paul is a member of the London Private Equity team that was recently awarded “Private Equity Team of the Year” at the 2021 Legal Business Awards. Paul’s M&A experience has been recognized by Best Lawyers (2020, 2021) and The Legal 500 UK (2016, 2018, 2020, 2021), with reviewers praising him as “a ‘very commercial’ attorney who negotiates effectively and is also skilled at coordinating legal teams” (2018).Prior to joining Sidley, Paul was a member of the private equity team at another international law firm.
