Biography

Paul David Blizzard is a dual-licensed Canadian and U.S. patent agent and Ontario lawyer with a background in Computer Engineering in our Montreal office. He has in-depth knowledge in guiding companies through the complexities of obtaining and commercializing intellectual property.

Paul focuses on emerging technologies, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and clean technologies. Paul has extensive experience in the in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications related to computational technologies, such as medical devices, digital biomarkers, financial technologies and protein-binding models, among others.

His practice is centered on drafting and prosecuting high-value, originating patent applications, and advising on their international prosecution. Leveraging his technical background in Computer Engineering from Queen’s University and legal training from Osgoode Hall Law School, Paul provides strategic counsel to clients, helping them protect their innovations while aligning intellectual property portfolios with their long-term business goals.

With a deep understanding of both the legal and technical aspects of advanced technologies, Paul partners with executives, legal teams, and innovators to craft tailored IP strategies that deliver competitive advantage and deliver value for rapidly evolving industries.
